One Thing’s for Sure

A common life isn’t for anyone.

What we dare to dream is something remarkable;

If the world seems ahead of you in reaching the end of the pipe dream,

One thing’s for sure, you’ve rolled up far from how little it seemed.

A dream is hard to grasp as that one train you need to catch.

Here we all are, waiting hopelessly for that same chance;

If the world seems proud of its glistening, ornamental tracks,

One thing’s for sure, as you polish yours, there’s no reason to turn back.

A single call awakens the wanting to touch the clouds.

There arises a hope that once burrowed deep in one’s heart.

If the world is assured of drawing an arc to the end of the curve,

One thing’s for sure, the ink you have left can draw bigger toward what you deserve.

Waiting for a dream-come-true is like waiting for the last leaf to fall;

Here you are, weary of all the spots you have to water.

If the world seems to be vaunting its swaying branches with grace,

One thing’s for sure; time can tell that you’re greenest is yet to be your greatest phase.

There will come a time when your leaves are at their greenest,

When your arc is nearly finished,

You've reached the end of the pipe dream,

And when your train tracks are no longer rusted.

Chasing the beacon can be a ruthless thing to race.

But dreams are never a race; it’s a marathon;

If the world starts to greet you at the end of your last hustle,

One thing’s for sure, everything for you is all set and buckled.
