As the Adamson University Soaring Falcons continue their stellar season with their bench play and the ever so reliable full-court press, the National University Bulldogs tried to break the streak.
Barking their way, the Bulldogs are currently in the 5th rank with only 1 win to boast.
The first quarter went underway with a fast lead by the Falcons, starting with their signature full court press. Coach Franz Pumaren made his presence felt as his groomed players continue to dominate this season. Scores were quickly tallied and many exciting things happened as the loyal falcon fans kept their eyes and hearts throughout the game.
The second quarter approaching the halftime saw a light of greatness from the Falcons, sticking close to the opposition and had the score at the spark ignited at the simplicity of their execution despite the opponent’s constant need to catch up. This actually gave the Soaring Falcons an advantage due to their defensive plays.
The Bulldogs however just could not keep up with the heavy set defense presented by the Falcons, as they could not find the answer on how to penetrate an inch at all.
The halftime was an anxious time as the Bulldogs aimed to give the Falcons their first loss. Coach Franz Pumaren, ever a strongman in these kinds of situation, simply kept the Falcons in line. The coach earlier stated in numerous sources that he did not care that they are at 4 and 0 since he sees the potential of complacency if he stays satisfied. With the frazzle and dazzle of their players, it seemed clear that the Falcons continue to desire to dominate all their games.
The Bulldogs were trying to keep things alive despite having trouble at the offensive end.
Third quarter action saw some moves from all players who were by then killing it with the defense. The impeccable performance was all thanks to Papi Sarr and Sean Manganti staying humble and hardworking as the game continues.
The fourth quarter started off with the bulldogs trailing by 8 points, believing that this was still anyone's game. Building up to defend and out do the Falcons, however, did not help them at all. The event was lit up at the FilOil and the Falcons kept it close and tight, giving no space the opposition. Things can't seem to stay real for the Bulldogs as they see the lead only increase from time to time, ending the game at Adamson 63 – 58 NU.
This year has been jumping for the Falcons, as they face and dominate over one team after another. The Falcons are 5-0 heading into their next game against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws.
