Flowers fresh from Dangwa, a walk along Luneta park, a romantic dinner at a restaurant-- gone are the days when we can celebrate the day of love out and about, bumping elbows with other couples in public. With all of our other practices adapting to changes due to the pandemic, it’s about time for our plans to crawl into our partner’s heart to adapt to the new normal as well.
Still have no plans for celebrating Valentine’s with your amóre? Here at Komunikator, we got you, klasmeyt! Keep your mahal, bae, or sweetheart safe from COVID-19 infections with this guide on things you can do to celebrate Valentine’s at home.

Eat together
Remember the old adage, “the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach”? Even during a pandemic, this still hasn’t changed, so come up with ways for you and your partner to still enjoy dinner together even while at home.
Cooking and trying new recipes at home isn’t new to us anymore — so put your cooking skills to the test and send your partner a packed dinner you prepared and eat it together via online channels. If cooking isn’t your forte, you can always order food and have it delivered to their house.
Watch a romantic movie
In a time where you can’t physically be together, give a new twist to the slang, “Netflix n’ Chill” by literally just chilling with your partner. The two of you can download a movie online and watch it at the same time, while on a video call. You can also use the help of various online extensions such as Netflix Party or Scener, which allows you to do all these without the use of an extra device.
Profess your love...again
There are different types of couples out there, and if you and your partner are the type to keep things in the low, keep it simple by just professing your love to them in a genuine and thoughtful way.
If you’re the creative type, you can make them a playlist, a drawing, or a painting that reminds you of your relationship, or go all the way and create a cheesy video just saying “I love you”. Kilig no?
Valentine’s day can be rough, especially if you’re away from your loved one. Hopefully, these ideas can help keep the sting of the holiday in check and help you and your partner be each other’s Valentine’s until next year.
Happy Valentine’s Day, klasmeyts!
