The Communication department warmly greeted the Falcon community with a big, fat HO HO HO as they held Project Cerita 85 Waves, a storytelling event, via zoom last December 9.
Starting the program with a greeting and a little ice breaker, Klasmeyt Glen Papillarin’s hosting style hyped the audience, immediately earning active participation of students from basic education grades 1-4.
The main course of the activity includes the showing of a clip entitled Regalo by Michaela Ann Marie Razon, made possible in collaboration with the AdU Library. It follows the inspiring life of a young boy who discovered God as the true giver of Christmas presents and later on, became a priest to remind the youth of the importance of celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Of course, the whole story would have been too difficult to understand, if it wasn’t for Ms. Ma. Elvira Pineda, Adamson’s best elementary librarian who starred as a storyteller. Her 11 out of 10 engaging narration got the kids strongly hooked and left them crying for more. Adding a unique spice to an already flavorful film, Juan Angelo Corda as Patrick, Adrian Espino as John, and Rezel Wida as Marie also snatched the spotlight with their celebrity-like acting.
To end the event with a blast, a quick question-answer portion was prepared, making the comment section flooded with enthusiastic responses from the students. Lasting for only 30 minutes, that event was only able to churn out one story. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity to learn more about Philippine values and traditions.
Christmas is indeed the coldest season of the year. Still, we feel the warmest because of God’s grace. Let us not forget who the real star of Pasko is and enjoy life like never before.
