A Communicator’s Purpose

The Creative Communicators Society of Adamson University held an event on the 4th of December 2021 titled FINDING PURPOSE: The Love for Printed Words which aims to discuss what happens when a Communication Arts major starts his journey as a media person.

As per the project heads Charlie Taño, Academic Director for CREACOMMS, and Jheanine De Pedro, Public Relations Officer for CREACOMMS - they’ve created the occasion to help the students, especially those who are about to reach internship, to get a gist of what they’re getting once they’ve faced the real deal - the media industry.

Host Kyle Sunday Julaton, Environmental Director for CREACOMMS and Academic Director himself, gave a very friendly vibe for the occasion. It was conversational, making the audience relate more to the main theme of the event. The guest speaker of the day, Mr. Argyll Geducos, talked abundantly about his experiences as a media person himself and his journey as a writer back when he was in college. Though he talked about building your skills and the perks of earning experiences, he still emphasized that a good attitude matters the most.

Once again, we faced another challenge to create something that will bring the COMM-unity together. Zoom Meeting reactions were given instead of the applause we’ve always aimed for and emails were sent as invitations instead of public announcements in busy hallways of our university. The real question is - once we leave this setup, once we’ve received our diplomas and applied for jobs, how do we go from there?

The event may have experienced certain challenges and difficulties, the participation of Communication students made the most out of the special occasion. This still proves that whether face-to-face or virtual meeting, cooperation brings out the unity among COMM-unity and that there’s a big future ahead of us someday.
