Comm Students earn multiple recognitions from AdU-OSA’s Virtual Students Award 2022

Updated: Aug 2, 2022

The Adamson University - Office for Student Affairs (Adu-OSA) commemorated the Virtual Students Award 2022 on July 21 via Zoom. The event was held in recognition of the individuals and campus organizations that provided continuous acts of volunteerism for the Academic Year 2021-2022.

In an online interview, Jerjhen Salazar, one of the Top 5 Outstanding Vice Presidents awardee, Comm Student, OSA Volunteer and Silip@Lente officers, expressed her jubilation after receiving her recognition during the event.

“Super blessed and honored kasi dream come true talaga. Kaya super grateful ako sa buong organization ko, sa aming adviser, sa Adamson community lalo na sa higher offices.” she said.

(I’m super blessed and honored because it’s really a dream come true. That’s why I’m grateful to my whole organization, our adviser, and to the Adamson Community especially to the higher offices.)

Salazar has also mentioned that it was one of her long-time goals to be deemed as an awardee, alongside with her organization, Silip@Lente, by the Adamsonian Community.

“That time I’m praying din na sana as my last year for being a student leader ay ma-experience ko rin maging isang awardee sa Student Awards. At talagang ina-aim ng organization namin, Silip@Lente-AdU since then na mapasali sa Top 10 Outstanding RSOs,” she said.

(At the time, I was also praying that hopefully as my last year as a student leader I’d also experience what it’s like being an awardee at the Student Awards, and also that our organization, Silip@Lente-AdU ever since then makes it onto the Top 10 Outstanding RSOs.)

Teodoro Dangarag Jr., one of the Top Five Outstanding Presidents awardees, a Campus Leadership awardee, an OSA Volunteer, Comm Student and Silip@Lente President, expressed his gratitude in his acceptance speech as one of the event’s speakers.

In his speech, Dangarag Jr. exclaimed the hardships he experienced over the years, as a Student-Leader.

“I’ve thought about what might happen if we chose to give up. This teaches us that while we may not always obtain our desired outcome, we will receive the needs of failure that can sometimes be the catalyst of learning new lessons, developing emotionally and pursuing your goals,” he quoted.

In a separate interview, Dangarag Jr. also sent his regards to the students who were also aspiring to receive an award some day in the future.

“Enjoy at kapag nakakaramdam ka ng pagod, lagi mong iisipin yung naging dahilan mo bakit ka pumasok sa org mo,” he quoted.

(Enjoy and whenever you feel exhausted, always remember the reason on why you joined your org.)

Dangarag Jr. has also reminded the values that he encourages every student must have for themselves, as a Vincentian student.

“Mahalagang isabuhay ang mga itinuturo ni St. Vincent De Paul, dahil mahalaga na may pagkalinga sa kapwa na hindi ka humihingi ng kapalit: Tanging pagmamahal lang.”

(We must live by the teachings of St. Vincent de Paul, because it’s important to have compassion for others, even if we don’t ask for anything in return: Only love.)

Various recognitions were also given to students and organizations differing on the contributions and feats that have been garnered throughout the school year.

The following awards span to the Outstanding Officers, OSA Special Awards, and RSO Group Awards.
