First-year college students of Adamson University set their goals and expectations for incoming face-to-face classes after attending students' virtual orientation via Zoom on August 2-5 and August 8-13.
Jairalane Somcio of AMC 101 felt that this school year would give her enjoyment and learning.
"Enjoy and eager to learn new things. Study hard to be part of the Dean's list," She said as she stated her goals for this school year.
Kim Allyson Facistol, an irregular student from AB Communications, shared that exploring the campus while studying is her goal as we transition to the HyFlex Learning Modality.
“My aspirations for the upcoming semester encompass meeting with my Klasmeyts, having a great time on the AdU campus, and getting to know the professors,” she said.
Facistol added that despite the pandemic, the students still felt welcome through the virtual orientation and online classes.
"Even if the pandemic is still a problem, I believe that all of the new students have gotten a warm welcome," she said
Moreover, Gilmore Floyd Lozano of CPE 102 also expects to explore and learn more about the campus as a freshman.
"I also expect to have a tour of the school premises to help me learn my way around the campus and hear enthralling things about the school that will reassure me that I made the right decision to become an Adamsonian," he said.
Meanwhile, Johnrey Pangaral of EE 101 intends to concentrate on his studies while making new friends in this face-to-face set-up.
"Plano ko ngayong sem is mag focus and at the same time makahanap ng mga kaibigan pag pasok ng F2F," he said.
(My plan this semester is to focus and, at the same time, find friends when entering face-to-face.)
Angel Salayog of PM 101 said she plans to reduce procrastination by managing schedules.
"My plans this coming semester is to minimize procrastinating by creating my own study schedule that will help me throughout the whole semester," she said.
Meanwhile, Krystel Basa of GE 101 believed joining AdU's different organizations would greatly help her as a freshman.
“For me, different organizations or services can help me develop and learn more about the unknown world I'm entering right now. And it excites me even more as a freshman,” she said.
On the other hand, Communication Department Chairperson Ms. Ailene Ayson stated that the department would adhere to institutional policies concerning the Hyflex Learning modality guidelines.
“The department will abide by the institutional policies regarding the HyFlex modality. But in terms of student development, we look forward to having our annual events like the General Assembly, COMM Day, and Media Summit,” she said.
Ayson also revealed the University Communication department enrollment status in the first semester.
"We have fewer freshmen compared to last year's batch, but [the] majority of the upperclassmen are still with us this new school year," she said.
