Almost 1,200 students or 92 percent of those who participated in an online mock election survey chose Vice President Leni Robredo as the country's next president, AdU-PULITIKA revealed on March 30.
The said organization conducted the mock elections last March 22 and ended on March 25 with a total of 1,296 respondents to determine the awareness of the university’s students for the upcoming 2022 National elections.
According to Andrea Janin Licuanan, a minister from the Ministry of Social Welfare and Development of AdU-PULITIKA, the organization also planned webinars and pre-election activities in connection with the online mock elections.
“The Ministry of Social Welfare and Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Advertisement and Promotion, seeks to determine who the Adamson University students will vote for in the upcoming national election. Moreover, following the AdU-PULITIKA Ministry's planned webinars and pre-election activities, the Ministry intends to assess whether some students will change their preferred candidate,” she said.
Licuanan added that the posting of the results on their Facebook page will help the students who are still yet to decide who they will vote for.
“The mock election survey will become a useful tool and an effective method for students who are still undecided about who they should vote for,” she stated.
The organization will be posting a Google form via AdU-PULITIKA’s Facebook page to ask the students why they voted for their chosen candidates to enlighten other students, according to Licuanan.
“The Social Welfare and Development Ministry will ask students the reason why they vote for that specific candidate via Google form that will be posted onAdU-PULITIKA’'s Facebook page, to ascertain why Adamson University students chose this candidate, and to educate other students about who they should vote for,” she said.
Moreover, Licuanan stated that the results showed that the university’s students are aware of who they should vote for.
“The mock election result demonstrated that Adamson University students knew who was best suited for the job. They are aware of which candidates are competent, transparent, and trustworthy,” she said.
