CineFilipino extends Campus Tour at Adamson University

Updated: Jul 22, 2021

Communication students at Adamson University gathered at the Media Center last January 31 to catch a screening of the film, Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus, all made possible by CineFilipino’s partnership with the Adamson Communication Department and the Creative Communicator’s Society of Adamson University or CreaComms.

The film, which centers on an enigmatic woman named Aileen, chronicles the lives of four men, all in search of what is missing in their lives, and how she has captured and held their affection in the streets of Avenida, Manila. The film featured kilig and wow moments that fully captured the audience’s attention.

The screening is a part of CineFilipino’s campus tour in celebration of their 4th film festival, in hopes of showcasing stories and films to serve as a first step for aspiring and professional filmmakers onto mainstream success. The screening, with the theme “Buhay ang Kuwento”, teaches us that for one, life is a story and secondly, that stories and ideas can be found anywhere in our lives. This aims to spread ideas and inspiration to the audience when it comes to

appreciating and creating films.

There to talk and answer questions about the film is its very own lead actress, Iana Bernardez, who relayed her story on how she came from being a member of the film’s production team to being the star of the film, Aileen, as a result of a time-crunched and impromptu script reading. She also spoke highly of the award-winning independent film’s director and writer, Dwein Baltazar, who has directed and written several known films and series today, such as iWantTV’s “Past, Present, Perfect?,” the hugot film “Exes Baggage” and more, ending her talk with advice for aspiring filmmakers and production members.

Responses from the audience was positive, as one of the attendees, Kyla Aronales, rated the event a perfect ten, as it “shared infos that could help those aspiring ones in the industry.” Another student, John Renz Tubale, commended the event’s purpose saying, “Dahil sa event na yun napromote yung mga ganong movie, na hindi naman masyado binibigyang pansin ng mga bigger media outlets.”

True enough, the film screening proved that it has done what it aimed to do – to inspire aspiring students and filmmakers.
