Joint event of CreaCommS and Silip@Lente a Success

“Ad Maiora Natus Sum” becomes a success with the help of a psychologist and a local parish priest invited by Creative Communications Society (CreaCommS) and Silip@Lente (SILAU).

The event was spearheaded by Jerjhen Mica Salazar, Religious Directress of CreaCommS along with SILAU by inviting two professionals in their own respective field of work, Psychologist Vince Saniel and Rev. Fr. Rock Joseph Enriquez who both gave their knowledge in regards to mental health.

Saniel shared his knowledge on how to understand mental health and also added the means to live a full life with personal goal planning which all can do and how to set a positive mind-set.

While, Fr. Enriquez strongly suggested that 'dependence on God is a need he advised everyone' that all struggles should be faced head-on with God.

The event faced criticism before it got the go signal from the people involved it, which deemed the event to have a very sensitive topic to tackle.

But with the advice from the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) which suggested that the event should have a light atmosphere to help facilitate the urgency for all those suffering mental health.

Salazar managed to initiate the religious event which was a refresher on what students are experiencing which is mental health issues that makes them to underperform in school or in any other extra-curricular activities.

After the event ended, some participants commended the event saying that it is relevant and effective.

“Don’t think that your battles are against yourself for behind the battle you can do more, especially if you have a strong faith on what your belief is," Salazar said.

To Salazar, it is not just an event for her but also something very dear to her as she herself said in an interview she also suffered mental health issues before, and it was like her mission to help those with the same condition.
