INFI9: COMM DEPT SETS 2019 GENERAL ASSEMBLY

With the theme “Infi9: Endless. Unstoppable. Continuous.", the Communication Department of Adamson University (AdU) officially welcomed their students during the ninth annual General Assembly at the AdU Theater last August 23.

This is also in celebration of the department’s ninth year of independence under the College of Education and Liberal Arts (CELA).

The event started with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist led by Fr. Libin Varghese, CM.

During his homily, Fr. Varghese mentioned that Communication is one of the ‘most important’ college programs in the university.

CELA Dean Dr. Gliceria C. Lunag delivered her welcoming address, urging the attendees to ‘make a difference by practicing the value of respect’.

Ms. Aileen U. Ayson, chairperson of the department, discussed the general school rules and the retention policy which will be implemented next year.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Ayson also reminded the students that on August 30 and 31, Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) accreditors will be visiting the Communication and Social Sciences Department.

In addition, the chairperson presented the newest members of the faculty, Sir Maurice John Ramos and Ms. Roxanne Calayag, as well as the seniors, Sir Glenn Parungao and Ms. Mira Ticlao.

Lastly, she welcomed all the first year students and thanked everyone who stayed in the department.

Moreover, she congratulated all the officers, crew, performers and students who participated in the event, and wished everyone a ‘happy long weekend.'

Meanwhile, Ms. Charlene Jucom, the newly-elected president of the Creative Communicators Society of AdU, led the introduction of her fellow officers.

To entertain the audience, the event featured performances from G-Circle Dance Team, G-Singers, and a special number from Mr. Dexter Ramos, former Comm student in the university, who performed his first single titled "Moneypulated".

The event was hosted by fellow Comm students and sophomores Hannah Disalongan and Inno Flores.
