Falcon Radio celebrates 10th anniversary with festive FRS Day

The CS Walkway was filled with games and music as Falcon Radio Station (FRS) celebrated its 10th year anniversary with its milestone FRS Day event on Thursday, February 28.

Each of FRS’ daily programs had their booths set up with their own unique gimmicks to entice Klasmeyts to participate with them. The radio station’s flagship program, “Falcon Beats”, offered students to sing on karaoke; their news and religious program, “Falcon Flash” and “The Good Hour” had games and prizes to give away; and “FalconKnows”, FRS’ educational program, had free snacks for everyone passing by the walkway.

According to Falcon Radio’s station manager, Coleen Sheikha, the event was a success with an estimate of over 150 participants from different colleges and educational departments.

“Of course [I'm] happy,” Sheikha proudly proclaimed. “Not just because I saw our klasmeyts' faces happy and enjoying the event, but [I also] saw our fellow DJs na masaya sila, nag enjoy din sila, (that they’re happy and enjoying it) together with the people who participated and played [with] their games.”

Sheikha wanted the event to be special in the spirit of the radio station’s 10th founding anniversary. “This is the 10th [anniversary] and it's my last year here in Adamson,” she said. “I [wanted to] make an event na tatatak talaga sa FRS, lalo na sa DJs.” (that will leave a mark on FRS, especially to the DJs.)

She also hopes that FRS Day will be an annual event from now on as it was only done three times throughout Falcon Radio’s history: in 2013, 2017, and 2019.
