Amidst the inclement weather, the Creative Communicators Society of Adamson University (CreaComms), with the help of the Communication Department, still managed to conduct the annual Comm Day and Binibini at Ginoong Komunikasyon pageant for the Community last November 21.
Ginoo at Binibining Komunikasyon 2018 was held at JP AVR after transferring from the Meralco Grounds due to occasional rainfall.
Mr. JP De Leon of AMC 101 and Ms. Cheska Balceda of AMC 403 both grabbed the title. Mr. De Leon and Ms. Balceda both focused on media as their advocacies. Binibining Komunikasyon 2018 also stressed the significance of freedom of information in terms of gender relations.
“Ang Philippines ay democratic country pero yung LGBTQ community ay hindi capable to express ang sarili nila.” Balceda added.
Pink Hour, a fashion competition for the LGBTQ community was conducted to a different venue. The former ''BekiComm'' took place at the media center to wrap up the day. The fourth year student winner of the competition, Mr. Allen Agapay, shared his opinion to the alterations of the competition. ''Naniniwala akong isa itong hakbang ng department para maipakita ang diversity ng community natin. Kaya nung nalaman kong i-cacancel ang pageant, na-disappoint ako kasi part ako ng LGBTQ community.'' according to Agapay.
Moreover, Comm Day 2018 featured different Palarong Pinoy games in the first leg of the event. Different levels of Communication students participated in the games that were held at the Meralco Grounds.
