With the theme "Communication and Digitalization: Revolutionizing Platforms", the Creative Communicators Society of Adamson University (CreaComms) held its annual Media Summit at the AdU Theater last November 22.
Keynote speaker Mr. Patrick Manlapaz and four other digital media personalities namely Mr. Francis Sajorda, Mr. Carlo Ople, Ms. Janina Vela, and Mr. Jerrold Tarog delivered their respective lectures to encourage the attendees to thrive in digital media.

"Practice your soft skills, it will take you miles," said Digital Media PH Founder Mr. Manlapaz, emphasizing that right attitude is the key to succeed in the field of media and advertising.
Meanwhile, PLDT telco Vice-President for Digital Strategy Mr. Ople and YouTube content creator Ms. Vela focused on advising the students to 'be the creator, not the consumer,' as the former stated.
"It's better to create something than nothing at all," Ms. Vela added.
The third speaker, Writer and Digital Media Coordinator for Star Creatives TV Mr. Sajorda also said, "May career sa digital media," taking inspiration from his own experience working for hit TV shows "Forevermore", "Princess and I", "
"Got to Believe", and many more. [There is a career in digital media.]
Award-winning film director Mr. Tarog, who worked on hit historical films “Heneral Luna”, “Goyo”, and is set to direct the upcoming “Darna” movie director also shared his experiences working in the set and addressed issues regarding the industry through a Q&A segment with the attendees.
Moreover, the director advised to 'chase opportunities,' stating, "Nood, aral, basa, whatever. Go out there and earn some life experiences para 'pag dumating 'yung opportunity, ready." [Watch, study, read, whatever. Go out there and earn some life experiences so that you're ready when the opportunity comes.]
Being one of the attendees, first year communication student Jen Villanueva shared her insights regarding the event, stating,"I feel very privileged that I get to be a participant of this year's Media Summit.” She also shared that the event made her 'realize that there are really a lot of potentials in the program we are all taking'.
Furthermore, 4th year student Michael Frank Cotelo also shared his takeaways from the event, stating, "It really helped us kung pa'no nga ba talaga maging magaling and reputable na online creator." [It really helped us on how to be really a good and reputable online creator.]
The program also featured performances from G-Circle members as well as games 'agawang panyo' and a sudden pop quiz where prizes were given to its winners.
The event ended with the closing remarks delivered by College of Education and Liberal Arts Dean Dr. Gliceria C. Lunag, encouraging the attendees to integrate Vincentian Values in pursuing careers in digital media.
