With the theme “Religion and Peacebuilding”, the international student community of Adamson University gathered at the 2018 Welcome Celebration for International Students to celebrate unity amidst cultural and religious differences at the Dusit Thani Hotel last September 22.
His Excellency Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Apostolic Nuncio of the Philippines, presented a keynote address which centred on building unity, peace, and friendship despite representing different nationalities and countries.
Moreover, the program also featured a performance from the Adamson University Folkloric Dance Troupe, an introduction of the International Students’ Association of Adamson University (ISAAD) student council members, a dinner, and other activities like the pageant and modern dance contest.

Diplomats from other participating countries such as Syria, Brazil, Pakistan, Japan, Papua New Guinea and more also attended the said gathering.
“This event gave us lots of opportunity to know each other better, the culture we have never seen before, and the warming friendship between other countries.” said Augusta de Jesus Conceicao Carlos, a third year BSBA in Financial Management student from East Timor.
She also added that the event is ‘still the best experience in college life’, having attended it for the past three years.
Filemo Moreira, a fourth year BS Mining Engineering student, also shared his experience from the occasion.
“I liked the event because everyone really enjoyed and each country’s representatives was able to get a chance to get involved in the activities.,” he stated.
Spearheaded by its Master of Ceremonies Mr. Joel Zaporteza, the event was conducted with the help of the production team from selected students and officers of Creative Communicators Society of Adamson University (CreaComms) namely Francis Jay Acosta, Amphy Marie Delos Santos, Michael Angelo Fesalbon, Jayson Villafuerte, Carl Topher Aguilar, and Alexander Inocalla II. They were supervised by Ms. Jen Calimon.
An afterparty was conducted following the program wherein the students participated in games, photo opportunities, song and dance performances.
