Adamson University held its annual pep rally as they welcome the Soaring Falcons athletes for this UAAP season at Saint Therese (ST) Quadrangle last August 31.
The AdU Pep Squad initially showed off their most-awaited cheerdance routine with their signature tumblings, pyramids, and tosses.
The University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 Cheerdance Competition Champion performed a dance routine at the program followed by the presentation of athletes starting from the Junior Falcons led by the Junior pep squad then succeeded by the Men and Women’s Basketball and Volleyball team of Senior High School up to the college athletes.
Freshmen and transferees along their senior students and other staff of Adamson occupied the ST quadrangle to witness and to welcome this year’s UAAP Season athletes who then proudly walked for the parade.
Students also acknowledged the presence of Fr. Aldrin Suan, the Director of the Office for Athletics and Recreation (OAR) and the Adamson UAAP Board Representative, who gave an opening remark as he mentioned encouraging words for the athletes: “Many times you have to let go of so many applications for tournament preparations. For more chances of being honed, just to bring the bacon. As a community which expresses our gratitude, maraming salamat Klasmeyt sa sakripisyo.’’[Many times you have to let go of so many applications for tournament preparations. The volleyball Lady Falcons, the first performers, danced to K-Pop songs followed by the Men’s division and some of the Men’s basketball team that performed a dance remix and eventually joined by the rest of the team for a huddle dance and an interview.
Sean Manganti, the captain of the team, was asked what can the community expect from them and said “We will win this season.’’
On the other hand, the Women’s softball crew unleashed their dancing skills while the baseball team graced the whole quadrangle with their five-minute dance performance and beatboxing by Andrei Medrana succeeded by the Adamson University Drummers and Yellers On-Line (AUDYO) that performs the university’s battlecries during UAAP games.
The Basketball Lady Falcons also threw a performance followed by the introduction of this season’s AdU courtside reporter, Ms. Cor Catibayan, who told the crowd “Kitang kita naman na ang Adamson Soaring Falcons ay talented. I also expect na makukuha ng Adamson ang championship and mag-succeed in all sports.’’[It is seen that the Adamson Soaring Falcons is talented, I also expect that the Adamson attains the Championship and succeed in all sports.]
The UAAP Season 81 began last September 8 at Mall of Asia Arena as hosted by National University and started with a ballgame between the Soaring Falcons and Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles on the following day.
