ADU Welcomes Freshmen and Transferees at Pasinayaan 2018

The Adamson University Student Government (AUSG) officially welcomed its new batch of Adamsonians in commencement of its annual week-long celebration Pasinayaan 2018 held at the Saint Therese (ST) Quadrangle last August 28.

Among the spectators of the event were freshmen and transferees, who were able to witness performances from fellow students, acquired membership for their chosen organization through the registration booths stationed at the quadrangle, and experienced the services offered by the event sponsors.

“As a freshman, wala akong masyadong kilala, pero sobrang approachable at maganda ‘yung pakikitungo nila,” said Peter John Langit, 1st year BS Electrical Engineering student as he described how easily he was able to approach every organization upon inquiring." [As a freshman, I don’t know anyone much, but they were so approachable and they treat us well.]

He also added that the organizations ‘felt like family’, encouraging him to join and participate.

Irish Apolinario, Rowelyn Bachoco and Caleb Valmocina of BA in Communication also shared that they are ‘looking forward’ to the activities they will do with the respective organizations they joined. “Natuwa ako kasi sabi nila kahit wala ka daw talent, okay lang daw kasi may workshop naman, so super helpful talaga and

nakaka-encourage sumali,” Ms. Apolinario added. [I was happy when they told me it’s okay even if you do not have the talent because they have workshops, so it’s super helpful and encouraging.]

“Actually we’re very surprised kasi yesterday lang we had at least 70-80 new members,” said Gravity S.E.T. officer Jasmine Valenzuela. [Actually we’re very surprised because just yesterday, we had at least 70-80 new members.]

She also emphasized that most of them were ‘very excited and enthusiastic’ freshmen.

Moreover, other organizations were as well present such as Silip@Lente, Red Cross Youth of Adamson University (RCYC), Tinik ng Teatro, Bunka Koryu Kai (Cultural Exchange Club), Mountaineering and Exploration of Adamson University (MESAU), Physics Society of Adamson University (PSAU), Academic Scholars Alliance (ASA-AdU), Enactus of Adamson University (ENACTUS), Adamson University Mathematics Society (AUMS) and others garnered sign-ups mostly from 1st year students.
