The Falcon Radio Station (FRS) started the school year with its aim to develop more interactive connection with its listeners and to entertain not just the COMMunity, but the whole campus with their new programs.
Gelo De Vera, being the new station manager, wants his Klasmeyts to feel that they can always talk to the DJs and even interact with them through their social media accounts.

He talked about some changes and new exciting programs that the COMMunity should watch out for. One of these programs is “Dear Klasmeyt” wherein our Klasmeyts can send their stories online through facebook and through Google docs form for the sake of anonymity. FRS will feature their stories every Friday.
He also added that one of his goals for the FRS is to strengthen its social media interactions. Whether you are listening or not, FRS will reach out to you through their social media accounts.
In addition, he also mentioned that hopefully students will be allowed to enter the booth to request songs just in case they do not have any other means to request songs online.
Gelo wholeheartedly shared how FRS stands as a voice of the community. Some announcements are disseminated through the station; it is open for students who needs output using the radio system (i.e. Podcast Convention), and if students will need anything related to FRS, the disc jocks are more than willing to guide and help them.

For Gelo, the aesthetic of being a DJ is that you get to practice, have a glimpse of how things work, and how stations operate which in the future, you have a chance of being part of.
“Multitasker, in a sense of you know how to operate the system of playing music; the background music and proper timing for it. And at the same time, you have to have knowledge in speaking and interacting well, and connecting with your listeners .” as how Gelo described and explained the role of a DJ.
These are just glimpses of the things that we should look forward to but surely FRS has something more to give and something more to offer as they continue to improve and to serve us all well.
